Geography: Uruguay borders the Atlantic Ocean, which makes way for those fabulous beaches in Punta del Este, and is flanked by Brazil to the north and Argentina to the west.  The interior features rolling plains and plateaus, and the nation is bisected by Rio Negro

How's the weather? Uruguay’s climate is primarily humid and subtropical, temperate year round while winter offers a bit of a chill in the air and moderate rainfall annually combined with high winds during cooler periods.  NB to all of you Northern Hemisphere dwellers, Uruguay’s seasons are the opposite- with winter June – August, spring September to November, summer December to February and fall March to May
